I've spent the last 17 years designing, building, and running software systems in Cairo, Istanbul, and—recently—London. I work on payment products and systems that drive Stripe's expansion in EMEA, paving the road to achieve Stripe's mission of increasing the GDP of the internet.

Before Stripe, I spent over 6 years as a staff production engineer at Facebook London—now Meta. I was responsible for depicting the vision and execution strategy of the company's next-generation event storage and processing infrastructure.

For a little over 5 years, before I joined Facebook, I had my dose of entrepreneurship. I co-founded a startup offering cloud computing and consulting services for customers across EMEA from our offices in Egypt. Along that journey, we have published a—cited by Amazon and Microsoft patents—US patent (US8406682B2).
